9月12日，由工业和信息化部、中国工程院主办的2017年“工业强基工程现场会”和“工业强基成果展”在江苏常州召开,工业和信息化部副部长辛国斌、中国工程院院长周济、江苏省副省长蓝绍敏等出席。工业和信息化部从全国各行业选择了20家实施强基工程的代表性企业作了成果展示和经验交流，人本集团名列其中。
人本集团于2013年承担了“高精度长寿命轿车用第三代轮毂轴承单元”强基工程项目，实现了第三代轮毂轴承单元的升级和配套中高级客户的目标。该项目已通过国家验收。第三代汽车轮毂轴承单元不仅是汽车重要的安全单元部件，也是汽车传动的基础，素有“汽车产业的关节”之称，产品结构复杂，精度要求高，制造难度大。
人本集团安徽匹夫轴承股份有限公司总经理龙绍生在会上介绍了第三代轮毂轴承单元实施强基工程所取得的成果。通过实施强基工程，人本轿车用第三代轮毂轴承单元的寿命、可靠性、力矩、高速和密封等性能达到了先进水平，在中级轿车领域打破了垄断，实现了替代进口；企业管理实现了自动化、数字化和信息化，为建设智能化工厂奠定了良好基础。龙绍生表示，在强基工程取得成功的基础上，人本正在研发适用于新能源汽车的轮毂轴承单元，将在安徽芜湖建设智能化的轮毂轴承工厂，实现智能制造。
