8月份，全国粗钢产量7459万吨，同比增长8.7%，增速同比提高5.7个百分点；钢材产量增长0.5%，回落3.5个百分点。焦炭产量下降5.3%，去年同期为增长5%。铁合金产量下降1.9%，降幅同比收窄7.1个百分点。钢材出口652万吨，比上月减少44万吨；进口99万吨，比上月增加1万吨。焦炭出口46万吨，比上月减少26万吨。
1-8月，全国粗钢产量56641万吨，同比增长5.6%，去年同期为下降0.1%；钢材产量74518万吨，增长1.2%，增速同比回落1个百分点。焦炭产量29569万吨，增长1.3%，去年同期为下降2.7%。铁合金产量2286万吨，下降1.9%，降幅同比收窄0.1个百分点。钢材出口5447万吨，下降28.5%；进口877万吨，增长0.8%。铁矿砂进口71398万吨，增长6.7%。焦炭出口528万吨，下降22.4%。
钢材价格继续上涨。8月份，国内市场钢材价格综合指数平均为112.77点，比上月提高7.90点，同比提高37.51点。6.5mm高线、20mm中板、1.0mm冷轧板卷平均价格分别为4141元/吨、3961元/吨和4687元/吨，分别比上月上涨328元/吨、295元/吨和380元/吨，同比上涨55.3%、45.2%和38.5%。
