　　截至2016年底，湖北省汽车工业规模以上企业超过1400家，其中整车企业23家，改装车企业75家，零部件企业1300家，资产总额超过5500亿元。形成了武汉乘用车制造基地、十堰中重型商用车制造基地、襄阳轻型汽车和发动机制造基地的产业格局。武汉是东风汽车集团总部和研发中心所在地，汇集一大批OMEs上汽通用、东风雪铁龙、东风标致、东风雷诺、东风本田、东风风神、比亚迪......，众多世界500强、中国500强企业一级零部件供应商也纷纷在汉设厂：格特拉克、德尔福、法雷奥、住电、霍尼韦尔、伟世通、万向等。

　　重庆是全国汽车年产量超过300万辆的省市，2016年重庆汽车制造业预计完成产值超过5380亿元，同比增长约11.4%。重庆成为当仁不让的“汽车之城”。重庆也是长安集团总部和长安研究院所在地，汇集一大批OEMs如长安、长安福特、长安铃木、北京现代、北汽银翔、潍柴、力帆汽车等等。

　　四川省汽车整车及零部件规模以上生产企业有上百余家，一汽大众、一汽丰田、二汽雪铁龙、吉利、沃尔沃等众多国内外知名的汽车企业重大项目在川落户，一大批核心零部件企业在川集聚。在四川“十三五”期间汽车产业发展规划中提及，到2020年，四川省汽车产能由200万辆提升到400万辆，重点做强10户整车企业和800家规模以上零部件企业，推动四川汽车产业产值突破6000亿元，并将成都打造成汽车城。
